Group Insurance Scheme Payout for Puan Norhayati 16072009

Zubir, Sabri with Hizham                        The cheque amounting to 33.605.43       Group photo  Exco & Hisham’s office

Bro Hizham ishak is our member and took our insurance scheme at the initial stage when we launched the scheme. But what he failed to realize was that the scheme was also available for his spouse and children. When the news came that his wife was diagnosed with cancer, we were surprise that he did not insure his wife. Even though he was going thru trying times due to his wife’s illness we manage to persuade him to enroll his wife for the scheme quickly.

8 days after the first deduction of the premium, Norhayati succumbed to her illness. As this was a pre existing illness, and it was within the period of two years, the insurance payout was half the assured amount.

On 16th July 2009, the Exco made a courtesy call to our Bro hisham at his office for cheque presentation from the insurance company. The amount RM33,605.43 might not be that significant but at least it will help Hisham in someway or another. Together with some of his office mates we held a small cheque presentation session. Our secretary bro Ng Peng Ho had the honor of giving away the cheque. Also present during this ceremony was Bro Sabri, Bro Zubir, and Bro Siva.

Hisham pointed out that other insurance schemes that he took were returned with only the premium paid and he was really surprised that our insurance scheme had a substantial payout. He was extremely grateful to the Exco for persuading him to take up the scheme. Exco felt a feeling of accomplishment that insurance scheme that we had launched had met its target.

Payout to Sis Megalah Devi.

Her husband passed away recently resulting from a road accident. This is a triple indemnity payout. As such she was paid approximately RM184k, the biggest payout thus far from our insurance scheme.
Sister Megalah related to us that all other insurance scheme her husband had taken (the sum total), did not reach the amount paid out by this scheme. She wished she had listened to us when she increased her insurance scheme to RM250k. We persuaded her to increase her husband’s but she decided not to. Now she had also increased her child’s scheme to the maximum, knowing the benefit it gives. She thanked the Union for introducing the scheme to members.

The Passing of Sis Lalitha

For almost a year she had been suffering from cancer. She had taken the insurance scheme together with the first batch of members and the insurance payout was made to her last year. She wanted to reserve the money she had received for her children education. She was also detected with cancer at a later stage. Those who know her will definitely miss her.

Note:
The union notice a trend where majority of our members are healthy based on perception. Most of us do not make an effort to check on our state of health. We assume we are healthy. When we approach members on this scheme, many brush it aside by saying they had already had insurance but they do not know what insurance scheme they had purchased.

The union ultimate aim is to ensure that all our members take up this scheme. We will try to reach as many as possible and if you do not get the opportunity to meet us and wish to purchase this scheme, please contact us and we will gladly provide you the information. You could also call on our agent Mr. Peter George at 0178861612.
